Solar Radiation Sensor

Solar rad sensor 238wThe FTS family of solar radiation sensors enables the user to monitor solar radiation in three different forms, using a weather resistant, compact, accurate, and durable sensor, all without having to enter calibration coefficients into a datalogger.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • SDI-12 digital interface
  • Internally stored calibration
  • 3 models: PYR, PAR, and PHO

SDI-SR-PYR Pyronometer (PYR)
A pyranometer is an instrument for measuring total light available; it measures global sun and sky radiation.

SDI-SR-PAR Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR)
This sensor measures solar radiation within plant canopies, greenhouses, controlled environmental chambers, confined laboratory conditions, or at remote environmental monitoring sites.

SDI-SR-PHO Photometric Sensor (PHO)
The photometric sensor measures solar radiation as the eye sees it.

The FTS Solar radiation sensors are high quality precision devices enclosed in anodized aluminum water resistant housings, providing  excellent shielding from direct or reflected sunlight or rain.

This family of sensors monitors any one of three forms of solar radiation. The sensor converts light through a photo-diode to an electrical signal which is interpreted by its internal microprocessor.

This sensor mounts to a corrosion resistant mounting arm, clamped directly to the weather station mast, providing lightweight yet rugged support. The color coded connecting cable is fitted with a waterproof military style bayonet connector for easy setup and longevity.

FTS Model Number: SDI-SR-PYR* (includes mounting arm, 10′ cable, milspec connector )

* There are different model numbers for the ‘PAR’ and ‘PHO’ versions.  Contact us for more information.
